On August 18, 2013 I set out to climb Mount Rainier with five other women who work at The Clymb. Our mission was philanthropic, part of Big City Mountaineers’ Summit For Someone program, in which individuals ascend challenging mountains as a way to raise money to get under-resourced youth outdoors.
We put in the sweat on the mountain but now we need your help to reach our fundraising goal of $27,000. Shop any of the outfits we recommend in the What We Wear sale and The Clymb will donate a portion of the proceeds to our cause.
Check out my selections below then read on to learn a little more about me and see some images from our climb!
lucy Women’s Fast As You Can Singlet
I wear my lucy tanks more often than any other workout top; they’re extremely comfortable and the material is soft and high quality.
Light My Fire Swedish FireKnife Kit
This is by far my favorite piece of gear. The blade is extremely sharp, which is great for all doing all sorts of tasks around the campsite. I most recently used mine to chop veggies for hobo dinners.
Proof Bird Ironwood/Grey
These sunnies are a classic shape and look great on both women and men. I personally like them because they’re rustic looking and cute at the same time.
Mountain Khakis Women’s Down Town Jacket Black
I wear this jacket up to the mountain and out to the bar. It’s super comfy and pretty much goes with anything.
YogaRat Hot Yoga Towels
I recently discovered this is a must-have for any hot yoga class—especially if you don’t want to be that person slipping and sliding all over your mat. They also dry out super fast.
Sorel Women’s Yaquina Boot
These boots are perfect for tromping around camp or pairing with a casual pair of jeans. I like that they are sturdy and fashionable at the same time.
YogaRat RatMat Pro
I love this yoga mat because it’s made of high-quality material and I don’t slip and slide around. The mat is also pretty long so I can be sure to stay on it during practice.
Clymb Water Bottle
Not only is this Miir water bottle the perfect size, it ALSO has a Clymb logo on it. I like how it has a screw top that doesn’t leak. I take this thing everywhere with me.
Grand Trunk Hammock
I love this hammock. I set it up in my back yard as a comfy reading spot or at the campsite for easy sleeping.

What inspired me to Summit for Someone?
The all-lady team of Clymb co-workers who summited Mt. Shasta through Big City Mountaineers last year was a big inspiration. I had just started working here, and I remember hearing their stories along with how excited they were to have summited for a good cause.
