We followed our very own team members, Erik and Julie, as they went sailing the Greek islands on a Clymb Adventure with their friends. Check out our quick interview:
Why Sailing the Greek islands?
A few of our close friends recently turned 30 and we wanted to celebrate with an epic trip. Greece offers great weather, warm water, delicious food, varied landscapes, and ancient culture. Combine that with a private sailboat taking us from island to island and we were sold!
What made this Greece sailing trip so special?
This was one of the first trips we’ve been on where we simply didn’t have to worry about a thing. From where to eat to what to see and do, everything was handled seamlessly by our guide and skipper. They treated us like friends and made us feel at home in a foreign country.
What was is like traveling via sailboat in Greece?
Beyond being one of the safest ways to travel, sailing combined our transportation, accommodations, and an unforgettable experience all in one. Sailing is quintessentially Greek, and it provided the most authentic way for us to see the islands — we accessed hidden bays and undisturbed villages not overrun with tourists. Plus, it was so fun to ride the waves as we dangled our feet in the turquoise water and looked out for dolphins and flying fish!
Tell us about a typical day on the trip
We spent our days exploring the picturesque towns of the islands, swimming in the warm Aegean waters, and eating delicious meals. For us, Greece was a food-lover’s paradise. Meals, on average, are far cheaper than in the U.S. or elsewhere in Europe. Most restaurants we visited were family-run and have been serving up local specialties made with the freshest ingredients for generations.
