Speed Flying in Style

The aver­age ski­er will nev­er get past about 35 miles per hour. Imag­ine the rush of strap­ping on a para­chute and some skis and fly­ing down the moun­tain side at 60 MPH. A mere mis­cal­cu­la­tion could result in slam­ming into jagged rocks, but those who fly unscathed will expe­ri­ence an adren­a­line rush from hell.

Claus Eber­har­ter, pic­tured in the video above, demon­strates the rel­a­tive­ly new sport called “speed fly­ing.” This dan­ger­ous activ­i­ty is gain­ing pop­u­lar­i­ty among those who find ski­ing a lit­tle too easy and sky­div­ing a lit­tle too short.
