IN OTHER NEWS:

The Little Stove That Could: Did you know? We’re carrying Esbit camp stoves today. Ever wonder where those little wonders came from? Alex Soyer laid the groundwork for the modern-day portable stove in 1849. He designed the small, single-burner stove to run on pressurized fuel and to have sufficient heating power to cook a meal in a couple of minutes. Deemed “The Magic Stove,” it paved the way for the more popular Primus, which wasn’t developed until the late nineteenth century. So, the next time you are about to devour a bag of piping hot beef stroganoff, give nod to Soyer, a great man with a great idea.

One of the more interesting debates among runners is over the benefits of barefoot running. Is minimalist running better than traditional? Though recent studies have shown runners who habitually rearfoot strike have significantly higher rates of repetitive stress injury than those who mostly forefoot strike, the key is remembering that running is a skill that requires proper training.

Running technique and movement specialist Lee Saxby demonstrates the correct posture in barefoot running:

We’d love to hear your thoughts on barefoot running. After you shop our exclusive VIVOBAREFOOT event today, stop by Facebook and tell us about your barefoot running experience.
