Though strikingly similar to the DC comic hero’s headquarters, this place is ANYTHING but peaceful. Located in Northern Mexico in close proximity to a large magma chamber, the collected heat alone has enough intensity to melt your face right off. The temperature in the main cavern featured above exceeds 50°C or in American terms, 122°F.

The climbers above wear special cooling suits in order to walk on top of these giant crystals.  These suits are essentially huge packs of ice, engineered to keep the body cool during the treks into the cave.  Even with these suits, the explorers end up drenched in their own sweat, making this journey exhausting and time consuming, but absolutely worth it.
