MiiR: In a market saturated by ubiquitous style and mediocre design, MiiR stainless steel bottles stand out as unique. For every bottle sold, the brand provides one person with clean water for a year.

Easton Mountain Products: If you’ve ever suffered a day of post-holing through soft snow, then you know how important it is to have snowshoes. Stay atop the snowpack this winter with a quality pair of snowshoes featured here.

The Fastest Kid: Did you know?

On August 26th (that’s today!), 1973, running phenom Mary Etta Boitana beat 1,500 runners to win California’s historic Dipsea Race. She was ten years old. Being a youngster, she had a 25-minute head start, but the course is a rigorous series of obstacles. The 7.5‑mile race climbs 688 stairs up the side of Mt. Tamalpais then plunges through Muir Woods to the Pacific Ocean at Stinson Beach on numerous singletrack trails. The maze of alternate trails makes race strategy important, and that’s what contributed to Boitana’s win. At age five she won the women’s title, making her a savvy 5‑year veteran by the time she won it all at age ten.

Shower Power: Did you know? You can use your old shower curtain as a ground tarp. Just make sure to hose off all that narsty mold first!

Cloudveil ambassadors Jeff and Kristin Campbell spent a week with friends at BC’s Sorceror Lodge and expertly captured what it’s like to get in sessions under extreme conditions: frost-lined clothes and gear; fueled by the need to keep moving, adrenaline, and the occasional appearance of the sun; skins tucked into jackets to keep them sticky while you ski, and then back to the lodge to soak your aching bones, then rest up because you’re getting up bright and early to do it again.

Get your own Cloudveil mountain-tough outerwear – providing perfect protection when the temperatures drop and moisture wicking when the mercury rises – at members-only pricing here.

Clymb member Joshua Montague is the perfect example of how The Clymb has managed to amass almost one million members. Joshua never hesitates to share with his Twitter followers when The Clymb is offering up great deals on top brands (which, let’s face it, is daily), he shares his personal online purchases with his followers, and he always drops us a friendly line to let us know a purchase has arrived. A member since November 2009, Joshua shares how The Clymb has become a part of his every day:

In most ways, I’m an Everyman. Five or six days a week, I get up and go to work in the morning, try to squeeze in some friends and fun in the evening, and go to bed. Rinse and repeat.

But the remaining days of the week are reserved for getting outdoors and having as much fun as possible. What follows could easily describe any two days, moving from those work-days to those fun-days. Every product mentioned came from The Clymb.

Alarm. 6:30 am.

Roll out of bed, immediately slide into the Sierra Designs Down Moccasin. The kitchen floor may be frigid, but my feet sure won’t be. Jeans and my super-soft Clymb Rangelife shirt (i.e. my “free shipping”) will keep me comfortable today.

Food. News. Pack up for the day. Pop my SkullCandy Ink’d headphones in and rock out on the way to work. Do my thing for eight or ten hours, head back home. Those down Moccasins will be back on my feet moments after stepping through the door. It’s an early night; need to get some rest for tomorrow.

Alarm. 7:30 am.

Jump out of bed. Down Moccasins, coffee, breakfast. Pack the climbing gear into my pack. Don’t forget to toss in the SIGG Steelworks water bottle. It’s taken some serious beatings, but keeps on trucking. To stay cool, comfortable, and functional today, my KAVU Rickyroo shirt is a must-have.

On both the street and the approach to the crag, my Patagonia Boaris shoes perform. Lace them up and we’re already out the door. Adventure awaits.

Not many outside of adventure-seeking circles had heard of Andy Lewis before this past Sunday’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Today, people can’t stop talking about the toga-clad, curly-haired ball of bouncing energy being kissed by Madonna.  SkAndy (Sketchy Andy), BASE Pro, and Slackline King are all apt names given to the 25-year-old.

That performance also made ‘slacklining’ a household name. Slacklining is the act of balancing along a narrow, flexible piece of webbing which is low to the ground and usually anchored between two trees. Even though its roots are in climbing, it has evolved into highlining and freelining (balancing hundreds of feet in the air without a safety leash), and slacklining is also a perfect backyard activity, cross trainer and fitness tool.

Gibbon Slacklines Kits make it easy for anyone to learn this sport and we’re excited that today they’re making their Clymb debut.

And to prepare you for your next day that begins and ends outdoors – you know, a perfect KAVU day – we’ve got a selection of KAVU apparel, bags and accessories for men and women.

Finally, to prepare you for just about anything, we’re featuring an elite selection of knives and tools from SOG, Tool Logic, and Victorinox.

Don’t forget: Our limited time $4.98 shipping is still available and adding a Clymb T‑Shirt to your order means the entire order ships for free!

You also have till Friday 2/10 at midnight EST to vote in our I Wish I Was There Landscape Photo Contest. Vote and help a lucky member win $50 to The Clymb!

KAVU.

Multiple events, one brand. There’s a KAVU men’s event featuring items like Busy Livin’ Tee, completely grown, sewn, packaged and shipped all within the U.S.A; a KAVU women’s event with the Avalon short, offering a relaxed-fit with a cool look, and a KAVU bag and accessories event with the Himuka Bag and the Lowpro Wallet. Of course, that’s just a taste.

TGIF!

Between traveling every corner of the world and remaining tied in to their well-traveled customers, Eagle Creek has managed to design travel gear that is smart, indestructible and comfortable. Knowing that a popped strap or broken clasp is the last thing you need while on an outdoor adventure, Eagle Creek ensures their gear’s longevity by putting them through rigorous lab and field-testing. They also strive to minimize material waste by choosing the least environmentally affecting fabrics, trims and packaging materials. Members of The Clymb can snag some of Eagle Creek’s durable travel gear for up to 50% off here.

Imagine a day that starts with an open window, subtle breeze and sunlight warming you awake. A day that smells like freshly-cut grass, the salt that rises off the ocean or suntan lotion. A day that feels like sweat creeping down your forehead, the burn of pushing yourself to the limit, and the accelerated heartbeat that comes with that. A day that sounds like the crunch of rock under your feet on a hike, the whir of bicycle wheels, or the crack of body meeting water in a dive. A day that begins and ends outdoors.

That’s a KAVU day.

KAVU’s apparel is made for days like those — clothing and accessories that go along with the ride, whatever that ride may be: kayaking, climbing, hiking… simply being outdoors.

The Clymb is proud to offer its members up to 60% off select KAVU apparel and accessories for men. The sale begins today at 9am PST and ends on Sunday (8/8) at 9am PST.

If you need a membership, check us out on Twitter or Facebook. And if you’re already a member, hook up your friends with your invite code so they can have a KAVU day, too.

Still not sure, “What is KAVU?” Here you go…
