The Con­ser­va­tion Alliance is an orga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cat­ed to pro­tect­ing the wild places and nat­ur­al habi­tats where out­door enthu­si­asts recreate.

…They’ve done it again.

When the 1.1 mil­lion acres of land sur­round­ing the Grand Canyon became under threat of ura­ni­um min­ing, the Grand Canyon Trust, togeth­er with The Con­ser­va­tion Alliance and oth­er con­cerned groups, fought to keep these lands protected.

Because of the efforts of these orga­ni­za­tions, Sec­re­tary of the Inte­ri­or Ken Salazar signed a 20 year mora­to­ri­um pro­tect­ing the area around the icon­ic canyon from tox­ic mining.
