We all know black bears can climb trees, but this video is a wake up call: Bears can climb any­thing. Watch these endan­gered Mex­i­can Black Bears climb San­ta Ele­na Canyon Wall in Big Bend Nation­al Park, Texas. The cub tries to fol­low mamma’s route but climbs a lit­tle too far to the right. Then the cub hangs onto the wall with a nice stem move around the 30-sec­ond mark, before some crossover foot­work to fol­low mam­ma to safe­ty. Both climbs, it should be not­ed, were free solos.
