Sacred City, Found: Did you know? On July 24 (that’s today!), 1911, with the help of indigenous Quechua farmers, American archeologist and treasure hunter Hiram Bingham found the Quechua citadel of Machu Picchu. Though the iconic ruins were hardly a discovery in the literal sense, Bingham was the first to share the place with the world. He announced his ‘find’ in a best-selling book that tickled the imagination of tourists, who began to flock to Peru in droves. The name Machu Piccu is Quechan for ‘Old Peak.’

A lot of cities are finally seeing a reprieve from the scorching summer sun and as the temperatures lower, it has made enjoying our favorite outdoor activities more bearable.

As we enter the season of crunchy leaves under our feet and the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon, The Clymb thought it would be great to feature some fall-inspired apparel for women. Members of The Clymb will receive up to 70% off Nikita womens fall lifestyle apparel, beanies and snow apparel — because, before you know it, snow will be here, too.

The event begins today at 9am PST and is exclusively for members of The Clymb. Membership is free and you can obtain one by visiting us on Facebook or Twitter.

Nikita started in a small skate/streetwear shop in Reykjavik. Its head designer and founder, Heida Birgisdottir, expanded the icelandic brand to over 30 countries in just ten years. Nikita can now be found in over 1,500 stores.

In the grand tradition of chocolate and peanut butter we bring you two great tastes that taste great together: footwear fromVasque and clothing from Nikita.

Nikita started in a small skate/streetwear shop in Reykjavik. Its head designer and founder, Heida Birgisdottir, expanded the icelandic brand to over 30 countries in just ten years. Nikita can now be found in over 1,500 stores. Talk about a good old-fashioned success story born from hard work!

Vasque’s founder, William D. Sweasy, sharply recognized a rising interest in outdoor recreation and mountaineering during a trip to Europe in 1965. He knew that it wouldn’t take long before it hit the states and began designing  high-quality hiking and mountaineering boots. Since then, Vasque has consistently been changing the game of outdoor/athletic footwear by staying ahead of the curve and introducing innovative and quality designs.

Those are the qualities we look for when partnering with a brand — a company that continues to successfully navigate their Clymbs with their eyes firmly on the prize of delivering quality outdoor gear and apparel. This week, we’re happy that we can bring you two such companies in one event.

And this one is for the ladies of The Clymb! Members of The Clymb will receive up to 60% off Nikita clothing and Vasque footwear. You snowboarders out there may best know Nikita for their snowboarding apparel, but they have a summer collection of attractive and comfortable sportswear that we think you’ll love. Between that and the trail running shoes from Vasque, we have you ladies covered from head to toe. And, because we’re cool like that, we’ve added some Vasque footwear for the kids, too.

The event kicks off today at 9am PST and will end on Thursday (7/29) at 9am PST. As usual, the event is open to members only, but to obtain a membership its as easy as sending us a tweet or checking out our Facebook page for more info.
