Yesterday, we explained Klymit’s NobleTek Insulation and how it uses noble gases instead of down or other synthetic fibers. Today, we want to share their 9 Core Benefits of NobleTek Insulation.

- Variable Insulation: Warmth on Demand.

- Warm When Wet: Maintains thermal properties when wet and even submerged.

- Dynamic Channel Design: Ventilation is enhanced while deflated yet when inflated NobleTek™ chambers comform to your body snugly, capturing your body heat.

- Windproof: Pressurized chambers of argon never collapse when inflated and are unmoved by wind.

- Thinner: Argon insulates up to 3 times better than “Dead Air”, which other insulation traps. Warmer and thinner.

- Lighter: Argon is virtually weightless. Based on the volume of gas in the vest you can change your insulation from that of a windbreaker to a full-on ski parka with no change in weight.

- Loft Retaining: NobleTek™ will never lose its loft like traditional insulation will. Just pump and go.

- Safe: Breathe easy, argon is non-toxic and non-flammable, you have been breathing it since the day you were born.

- Eco-Friendly: NobleTek™ is the only insulation you will never see in a landfill.

The Kymit event begins at 9am PST this Wednesday.

We’re always looking to partner with brands that change the game, add a little something different to the outdoor landscape, and lead the way in innovation.

Klymit (and we’re not just loving them for their unique way of spelling it) has given users the ability to Kontrol the Elements with their NobleTek Insulation technology and it’s as simple as turning a dial.

Stopping to add or remove layers can be a pain, and as your level of activity and the climate around you changes, you can find yourself doing that numerous times. NobleTek Insulation uses noble gasses, like argon, instead of down or other synthetic fabrics. Argon is better at capturing heat and allows for thinner and more lightweight insulation. This lends itself to the most lightweight and least bulky vests on the market. When they’re inflated, they won’t hinder your movement and when they’re deflated, they’re easy to pack and store. The gasses used in the 100% recyclable cannisters are inert: non-toxic and non-flammable.

Check out the graph below for a better view of NobleTek Insulation, the world’s only noble gas-based insulation.

The key technology behind the Klymit NobleTek insulation is noble gas. The reason why noble gasses are such great insulators is becaus of their low thermal conductivity. On this graph you can see thickness on the bottom an heat loss on the left. The thicker the insulation, the less heat is lost. The top line on the graph is an average value for the industry leading natural and synthetic fibers. The bottom three lines are values for the gasses Klymit uses: Argon, Krypton, and Xenon. The yellow line shows that 4.5mm of argon has the same thermal conductivity as 14mm of fiber insulation, making argon more than 3 times more efficient.

Monday we’ll share some of “The 9 Core Benefits of NobleTek” on our blog and we’ll highlight some of the gear available in our Klymit event on Facebook throughout the week. We hope you’ll help us welcome Klymit to The Clymb this coming Wednesday.
