We’d only been settled into our new offices a few days when we received word that we made Outside magazine’s 2012 list of Best Places to Work. We placed 50th out of 100; not bad for a company that got its start just three years ago!
Outside primarily makes its determination based on measurable things like a company’s benefits and policies. But what really set The Clymb apart was its culture, which promotes teamwork, creativity, and a healthy lifestyle and that makes for more engaged and productive employees.
As the articles mentions, we put in long hours, but it’s within a flexible work environment where lunchtime bike rides and Frisbee matches are the norm, team building is done on Mt. Hood, and our dogs are our officemates. And when we need to stretch our legs…
“We’re honored to join this list of exceptional companies that have made the health and happiness of their employees a top priority. The Clymb’s mission from day one has been to increase the well-being of the planet and its inhabitants by inspiring human-powered adventure—and all of that starts right here with our growing team,” says Kelly Dachtler, Co-Founder and President of The Clymb.
The September issue of Outside highlighting The Clymb and the other companies named to the iconic publication’s 2012 Best Places to Work guide will hit newsstands August 14th.
