Pride And Prevalence: Did you know? On September 25 (that’s today!), 1804, the famous Lewis and Clark expedition nearly came to a screeching halt when they encountered a large party of Teton Sioux warriors that demanded a toll of tobacco before allowing the expedition party to head upriver. Outnumbered and outmatched, the expedition members agreed to supply the Teton with some tobacco. The chief waved his well-armed warriors off, and the expedition team continued on their way, more than likely avoiding what would have been a deadly end to one of the greatest expeditions of all time.

This is the End: Did you know? If the ancient Egyptians were right, rock and roll bad boy Jim Morrison is celebrating his dead-day anniversary with Osiris, the god of the afterlife, today. That’s right. On July 3 (that’s today!), 1971, Morison died from heart failure in his Paris bathtub. Today we’re featuring Osiris, a premier skate-inspired action sports footwear brand that shares its name with the ancient god who may or may not be singing, ‘People are Strange’ with Morrison as you read this. Argentine Explorer: Did you know? Whether you’re looking for a distraction or some trivia to impress your friends with today, you’ll want to start by researching the name Francisco Moreno. Born in Buenos Aires on May 31 (that’s today!), 1852, Moreno was a scientist and anthropologist who became one of the most famous explorers in Argentine history. He’s sort of a Christopher Columbus meets Charles Darwin meets Indiana Jones. Among many things, a natural history museum, a town, and the biggest glacier in the country bear his name. Moreno is perhaps most remembered for his adventures exploring remote regions of Patagonia. On one of these missions, he escaped captivity by an isolated tribe just one day before he was to be executed by them.

When you think of the best and worst part of your ski day, your boots just might come to mind. (I should note here that when I say worst in the same context as skiing, I don’t really mean it in its true form. In fact, worst in this case still trumps anything else you could be doing).

It’s the excitement of pulling up to your home resort or favorite backcountry spot and knowing that once you latch the last buckle on your boot, that your adventure is about to begin. Ski boots are the most important part of our day on the mountain. They take us to new heights, linking our feet to our powder sticks and getting us down the hill in the style that is uniquely our own.

All too often our day ends with our feet in pain, our toes cold and a yearning to unlatch the last buckle on our boot. Ski boots are the single most important part of your ski collection and once you find the right boot with the right fit you will become a much better skier.

Tecnica is widely regarded in the ski industry as a boot brand well qualified to provide the best fit, comfort and performance.  Product-driven and built for several types of skiers whether you race groomers, explore off-piste or find your comfort hucking cliffs, Tecnica debuts on The Clymb today.

SABRE blends creativity with community, with roots in the street culture of surfers and skateboarders, they set out to provide affordable products to the kids who shunned the mainstream and strived for authenticity and originality. SABRE is more than a brand – it’s a lifestyle. Welcome SABRE to The Clymb by shopping their goggles here.

Two new events, both available at our limited-time $4.98 shipping. Or add a The Clymb t‑shirt for free shipping on your entire order.
