Here the hum­ble cham­pi­on of sport climb­ing Chris Shar­ma trav­els to Aus­tralia for his first time to tack­le what’s often con­sid­ered the con­ti­nen­t’s best crag, The Grampians. The main fea­ture of this nation­al park in Vic­to­ria is a series of sand­stone moun­tain ranges, and among those ranges the most famous among climbers is the glow­ing orange, over­hang­ing cliff called Taipan Wall.

In this video Shar­ma tack­les Taipan Wall’s hard­est climb, Groove Train. It’s a strik­ing line with run out pro­tec­tion high up on the wall. The result makes for some gut­sy climb­ing up near the top where a fall is guar­an­teed to be a stom­ach-toss­ing whipper.
