The First World Surf Reserve: Did you know? On October 9th (that’s today!), 2010, an international group of surfers, scientists, and environmentalists led by Save The Waves and NSR Australia dedicated the Malibu Surfrider Beach as the first World Surf Reserve. The designation aims to protect the fragile marine environments that create internationally renowned waves.
