Klymit (and we’re not just loving them for their unique way of spelling it) has given users the ability to Kontrol the Elements with their NobleTek Insulation technology and it’s as simple as turning a dial.
Stopping to add or remove layers can be a pain, and as your level of activity and the climate around you changes, you can find yourself doing that numerous times. NobleTek Insulation uses noble gasses, like argon, instead of down or other synthetic fabrics. Argon is better at capturing heat and allows for thinner and more lightweight insulation. This lends itself to the most lightweight and least bulky vests on the market. When they’re inflated, they won’t hinder your movement and when they’re deflated, they’re easy to pack and store. The gasses used in the 100% recyclable cannisters are inert: non-toxic and non-flammable.

The key technology behind the Klymit NobleTek insulation is noble gas. The reason why noble gasses are such great insulators is becaus of their low thermal conductivity. On this graph you can see thickness on the bottom an heat loss on the left. The thicker the insulation, the less heat is lost. The top line on the graph is an average value for the industry leading natural and synthetic fibers. The bottom three lines are values for the gasses Klymit uses: Argon, Krypton, and Xenon. The yellow line shows that 4.5mm of argon has the same thermal conductivity as 14mm of fiber insulation, making argon more than 3 times more efficient.
