Valley Uprising: The History of Climbing in Yosemite

If you’re a climber then maybe you already know but, Valley Uprising, the new documentary from Sender Films has been selected to be the feature film of the 9th annual REEL ROCK Film Tour — and for good reason.

The trailer showcases how the film uses digitally remastered climbing footage from the days when Yvon Chouinard, Royal Robbins, and Lynn Hill were setting unprecedented new routes on some of the most iconic features in Yosemite National Park. It tells the story of these societal outcasts and how they defined themselves, and the sport, through their impressive feats.

It’s a documentary that captures the legendary era and explains how it led to the modern era of climbing in The Valley, where modern athletes like Dean Potter and Alex Honnold are continuing to push the limits of what’s possible on the rock.
