POV: Watch A Surfer Ride The Longest Wave

The wave comes out of the ether. Overhead, the smooth wall of water begins curling into a thin crest. A tube forms, and Benji Brand, the surfer, steps up onto his board with his GoPro running and captures the footage. Then he proceeds to ride, and ride, and ride. He rides for so long you become worried that he might never come back. He may have passed into another state or country. At the very least he ends up a long way away from wherever he left his stuff on the beach. And this, quite simply, is what it must be like to surf in heaven.
