Shaun White’s Olympic Training GoPro Footage

Shaun White doesn’t mess around when he trains for the Olympics. In 2010 he vanished from snowboarding’s limelight to ride a perfect halfpipe custom-built for him in the Colorado backcountry. He emerged from that million-dollar training ground with his signature double cork McTwist 1260. The trick won him the Gold Medal in Vancouver, and first place in nearly every halfpipe competition for the past three years.

Now, with Sochi just a month away, GoPro is sharing how they helped White train for the 2014 Olympics. This footage shows White working on his latest trick, a frontside double 1440, on a 22-foot Olympic-caliber superpipe the company built for him in Australia this past October.

Outfitted with a GoPro chest harness and helmet cam, White studied the film to improve his technique in order to land the highly technical trick. This footage gives never-seen-before access to the undisputed master of the halfpipe.
